I've only recently started writing poetry, but I've been told I'm pretty decent, so I'll post some of mine. Please tell me what you think! Just a warning, but many of mine tend to be depressing.

Flaming Hope

From the flames of Fate
Emerald eyes ablaze with hate
Shrieking defiance at the evil
That has caused a great upheaval
The giant rises from ancient slumber
A wise and powerful defender

Wings of fire, talons of gold
Beautiful and bold
Flaming feathers of every hue
Of red and green, orange and blue

The glowing shadow spreads the light
A beacon of hope, burning bright
All who see it knows it’s true
The Phoenix rises
To serve the Justice due

Dragon, Dragon

Dragon, Dragon
Flying free
Diving, soaring
Twisting, turning
Graceful as could ever be

Dragon, Dragon
Flying free
Glittering scales
Gleaming claws
Always ready to defend your cause

Dragon, Dragon
Flying free
With spirit unbroken
And pure of heart
Defending friends without second thought

Dragon, Dragon
Flying free
A marvel to watch
An honor to know
The great Wind Lords of old

Dragon, Dragon
Flying free
Come and visit
Close to me

Silent Suffering

Fallen far from hope and light
No one knows my private fight
Each day I find myself sunk deeper
My life is that of a mindless sleeper

I fight with all my heart and soul
But every battle takes a toll
My eyes glisten from unshed tears
There's no one to dispel my fears

Alone I wander in the night
Deep within a hopeless plight
Not yet, not ever can I find rest
Forever lost is my heart's solace

Wow that's really great stuff ^_^ It's very majestic and intimate ^_^ I hope to see more from you, we need more poets around like you ^_^

Heh well, I'm surprised I'm even able to write this kind of stuff. Here's another one, one of my longest, in fact.

Was it Truth or was it Lie?

How long I waited for this day
How I wish that you could stay
But I know as well as you do
That our love was never true

As you turn your back to leave
I think I feel my insides heave
My heart is heavy, my spirit dull
But then you turn back in the lull

Your sad smile, the untold lie
I know I have to break that tie
I knew I was too blind to see
That our love could never be

Even now with my eyes open
I can't help but keep a-hoping
One day you will return to me
Reunited beneath the great oak tree

A wistful wave, a quiet dream
I wake up beside the stream
Was it truth or was it lie?
I have nothing to remember you by

My heart is heavy, the pieces shattered
Not that it would have mattered
I know it was for my own good
I can't help but wonder where I stood

I stare at the sullen sky
I didn't notice the day gone by
I know it was only a matter of time
But still, for you, I made this rhyme

Aww... that is so sweet.... I wanted to cry, I really did.... it reminded me of my exb/f.... I still haven't accepted that he lied to me... I really don't want to... but that was a truely moving poem... please post more whenever you can ^_^
